Once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away, Eyegore the Alien had a single vision – total destruction! Beware weary earthlings, because once Eyegore gets his eye on you, there’s no escape from his unnatural powered jump and his insane air control.
— Official Rampage: Total Destruction description

Eyegore is an alien monster that made his first and only debut in Rampage: Total Destruction. He is one of 30 playable monsters (40 on the Nintendo Wii version). This is the only Rampage game he has appeared in.

Appearance[]

Eyegore is a giant purple one-eyed alien monster with six limbs.

Background[]

Eyegore was just an ordinary human until he drank Scum Soda and had a violent reaction that mutated him into a giant alien-like creature. He then went on a rampage until he was quickly captured and imprisoned at an unknown location.

Abilities[]

Eyegore has excellent jumping skills, exceeding Super-Jump and Multi-spin.

Strategy[]

You must complete the game with The "All Challenges Met" award for all cities to unlock Eyegore. This can prove to be a difficult task if The Player isn't careful. Despite any assertions to the contrary, The Player will only receive The "All Challenges Met" award for a city if they successfully complete every Challenge in each level with the same Monster (For instance, if The Player completes every challenge in the first four levels of Las Vegas with George, and the other four with Lizzie, he/she will not receive the "All Challenges Met" award). If The Player does not use the same Monster for every level of the city during their first visit to said city, this task can prove quite frustrating. The game will only record your progress for each individual level once. After beating The Boss Level, if The Player should return to the city and attempt to complete every Challenge, failure to complete even one will require that The Player start over from the first level of the city. Therefore, it is advised that anyone wishing to unlock Eyegore complete every Challenge the first time he/she visits the city. This way, he/she ensures that any mistakes made will only require that the current level be reset.

Trivia[]

  • It's likely that before being mutated, Eyegore's name was "Igor". Then after being transformed, the mutation of his brain compelled him to change it to reflect his cycloptic appearance.
    • If that is the case, given that "Igor" is a common Russian name, it is possible that Eyegore is Russian.
  • It is unknown how Eyegore can be an Alien, despite being born a human. One theory is that Scum Soda simply mutated him to resemble an Alien. Thus, he's referred to as such (despite not actually being from another planet).
  • Eyegore has the highest "Jumping" Rating in the game.
  • Eyegore bears many similarities to Myukus from Rampage 2: Universal Tour. They both resemble extraterrestrial Monsters (Myukus because he actually is one) and they both have a single eye. The addition of Eyegore to Total Destruction may be why the developers chose not to include Myukus as a playable character.
  • "Igor" is a name commonly used in horror movies. Most iconically, it is the name of Dr. Victor Frankenstein's assistant in Mary Shelley's famous 1818 sci-fi horror novel, Frankenstein.
  • During earlier development, the developers considering calling the character "Igor", but this was later changed. It is likely they felt that "Eyegore" was a better pun. Alternatively, it could be that the developers wanted to ensure the audience would know it was supposed to be pronounced "Ī-gôr" rather than "Ē-gôr" (the more common pronunciation).
  • The name "Eyegore" is shared with a recurring enemy in The Legend of Zelda series. Although in that case, "Eyegore" is not a proper name. Rather, it is used to refer to an entire species of creatures.
    • It is worth noting that, as with the monster in the Rampage series, the name of The Legend of Zelda creature is meant to reference the fact that the creature has one large, prominent eyeball.
  • Eyegore bears many similarities to Kang and Kodos from the animated Fox comedy series, The Simpsons. Most notably that their only limbs are tentacles, and they all have only one eye.
